A group of military personnel has been awarded on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Internal Troops (IT) of Ministry of Internal Affairs, for their participation in ensuring the territorial integrity, for their bravery during the battle, as well as, for their distinguished and meritorious service, their higher vocational training, and exemplary military discipline in accordance with Decree of President of Azerbaijan Republic and Order of Minister of Internal Affairs.

Awards Ceremony was held on March 18 in the Main Department of Internal Troops.

In the beginning of the ceremony, the attendants honored the memory of martyrs who sacrificed their life for the territorial integrity, in a minute of silence.
   
Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs – Sh.Mammadov, Commander of Interior Troops, Lieutenant General presented awards to the members of the martyr’s families of and military personnel.

Suleyman Ilyasov, brother of martyr Ilyasov Shamil Kamil who was awarded with “Bravery” medal expressed his deep gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev for higher state care to the families of martyrs and wished success to the personal staff of Internal Troops.

In the end of ceremony Sh.Mammadov, Lieutenant General congratulated the awarded military personnel and members of martyr’s family and expressed gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces for his attention and care. 

Commander of Internal Affairs emphasized: “The personal staff will continue to justify the confidence hereafter, and will carry out all orders and instructions given for the protection of our state and statehood in full quality.”

Note that 2 people (1 one of them was awarded after his death) were awarded with “For Land” medal, 2 people “Bravery” medal (after death), 16 people “For Military Service” medal in accordance with Decree issued by Ilham Aliyev, President of Azerbaijan Republic, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
