A serious crime committed in the territory of Yasamal district was disclosed in the result of the interrogative and investigative operations, professionally carried out by the law enforcement agencies of the capital “in hot pursuit”.

In the Regional Prosecution Office, a criminal case was initiated under the articles 120.1 (intentional homicide) and 29, 120.2.7 (attempted premeditated murder of two or more people) of the Criminal Code on the fact of deliberate murder of Mahira Aliyeva born in 1989 (residential address: 72 Abilov street, Yasamal district), attempted murder of Matanat Hasanova born in 1967 and her son Lachin Hasanov born in 1991 by an unknown person (persons) at about 23:30 on June 22.

With the involvement of forensic medical examiner the crime scene and body were examined, material evidences having importance with respect to the case were taken, appropriate expertise was determined and other necessary investigative actions were carried out by the District Police Department officers and prosecutors.

In the result of the executed interrogative and investigative operations, the resident of Barda region, born in 1991 Mammadov Sanan Ilham, accused of committing the crime on the basis of personal relationship, was arrested as the suspect and interrogated.

The investigation found out that S.Mammadov getting angry for not being managed to get his money back in the amount of 415 manats, that he gave to his common-law marriage partner Mahira Aliyeva, decided to murder her with intention of revenge, and together with his three acquaintances came to the address of 72 Abilov street, Yasamal district where the latter was residing temporarily. He entered the apartment and stabbed M.Aliyeva in different parts of her body with the knife which he had taken in advance for the purpose of murdering her, then attacked on the landlady Matanat Hasanova who was trying to prevent his action and for purposefully murdering them stabbed her and her son Lachin Hasanov, and fled the scene. While the injured persons were taken to the hospital with neighbours’ help, M.Aliyeva’s life could not be saved.

Currently in regard with the case, necessary interrogative and investigative operations are continued.
