Pretrial investigation is conducted by initiating a criminal case with the article 263.2 of Criminal Code in the Investigation Department of Sabunchu district police department over the fact that the road traffic accident resulted with the death of 1 pedestrian in the territory of Sabunchu district, Baku on 19.07.2017. 

Accident scene, vehicles, corpse were examined, forensic medical examination was assigned, drivers of the vehicles involved in road traffic accidents were questioned, they have been in medical examination to determine whether they were drunk or not, video recordings of the Intelligent Traffic Management Center in the accident scene were reviewed and other investigation activities were executed by the investigative-operation group made immediately upon the accident.  

Conducted pretrial investigation activities revealed that on 19.07.2017, at 00:50 Hasan Hasanov with his "Mercedes-Benz 208 D" microbus crushed into Goychay region resident Mirmehdi Musayev, the pedestrian who wanted to cross the road from the part without any pedestrian crossing in a drunk state, although there was one in the appropriate part, while he was walking in the direction towards International Airport through Heydar Aliyev avenue in Sabunchu settlement with left side mirror and threw him to the road where Ahad Karimov was driving along with his "Porsche Cayenne" through the same direction and the vehicle drove over the pedestrian. M.Musayev died at the accident scene of his injuries. Drivers of both vehicles stopped and did not leave the accident scene hereafter.    

The investigation uncovered that Hasan Hasanov, the driver of the microbus was engaged with passenger transportation activities, he had the right (driving license) to drive and he was not drunk while driving.

It was determined in addition that Ahad Karimov, the driver of "Porsche Cayanne" works in one of the companies in the capital as a manager, the marriage contract between his father  Hikmat Karimov, the chief of investigation department of Shirvan city Police Department and his mother was officially broken in 1994, and Ahad Karimov has been living under the guardianship of his uncle since that date. Ahad Karimov has the right (driving license) to drive, he was not drunk while driving and he bought the "Porsche Cayenne" this year in Baku through an internet advertisement. 
 
Special service investigation was assigned in the Ministry of Internal Affairs in order to determine whether Hikmat Karimov, the chief of investigation department of Shirvan city Police Department had involved, provided financial support, had any illegal activities or not to buy the abovementioned automobile. 
 
To continue the investigation in order to conduct the pretrial investigation thoroughly, comprehensively and objectively was entrusted to the investigation department of Baku city Prosecutor`s Office by the decision of Prosecutor General dated on 20.07.2017 and the criminal case was taken into the special control of the administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Prosecutor General`s Office.  

Currently the necessary investigation activities over the case have been being continued, it will be ensured that each guilty person will be held responsible in accordance with the law.
