Employees of the Main Public Security Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources take regular action to prevent the cases such as the disposal of household waste outside of garbage containers in cities and regions of the republic, forests, parks, health-care, tourism zones, sanitary protection zones of water sources and mineral springs, coastal zones of the Caspian Sea and beaches, industrial and domestic wastes pile-up, pollution of waters.
During the joint measures over the past period of the current year, having violated the requirements of Article 244 of the Code of Administrative Offences (ground pollution), Article 266 (violation of law on the production and household waste) and Article 271 (failure to comply with environmental protection requirements during picking and burning industrial and household waste) in Sabail, Binagadi, Khatai, Sabunchu, Surakhani, Khazar, Absheron region of the capital city and Sumgait 34 physical, legal and official entities were defined and brought to account and the penalties imposed on them amounted to AZN 42,850.
In general, as a result of the measures carried out by police bodies of the city and regions during the past period of the current year, 445 people who has violated the requirements of the above-mentioned Articles of the Code of Administrative Offences were brought to account and the penalties imposed on them amounted to AZN 71,200.
