Board meeting was held in the Ministry of Internal Affairs

On July 15, a board meeting dedicated to the results of operational-service activities and future tasks was held at the Ministry of Internal Affairs in 6 months of 2022.

Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic, Colonel-General Vilayat Eyvazov who opened the meeting with the introductory speech, emphasized that the first half of this year is one of the next successful reporting periods, that the internal affairs bodies and the internal troops successfully coped with daily tasks in the field of crime prevention, public order protection, human rights and freedoms protection, and that security was secured in mass events of international and national importance.

The minister noted with satisfaction that, 26 employees were awarded state prizes for their special services in the provision of public security and public order, in the fight against crime, and for their distinction in the implementation of the tasks set, as well as 4 senior employees were awarded the highest special rank by the orders of the president, who has always appreciated the activities of the internal affairs bodies.

Noting that there are important tasks ahead in the second half of the year, Colonel-General V. Eyvazov said that it is important to discuss them in detail, to define and implement additional organizational measures to improve service activities.

Delivering a report, First deputy minister, Police Lieutenant-General Seyfulla Azimov noted that during the past 6 months, 17,411 crimes were recorded on the Internal Affairs and prosecution bodies, 84 percent of them were species that do not pose great public danger and were less severe, and 90.2 percent were resolved, In comparison with the same period of 2021 crimes that occurred in non-obvious circumstances and those against property improved by 2 percent, including thefts by 2.7 percent, crimes from apartments by 4.9 percent, robberies by 9.7 percent, pillages by 0.8 percent, extortion by threats by 1.2 percent, and carjacking by 2.2 percent. He emphasized that 233 crimes related to the previous years and 1207 crimes with “hot traces” were solved together with the prosecution authorities and 4,832 illegal acts were prevented, 2,685 wanted persons, including 295 persons accused of serious and particularly serious crimes were arrested, and 89.2 percent of the financial damage caused to the state, legal entities and individuals was paid.

The speaker noted that 473 criminal groups were neutralized with the measures implemented in the fight against organized crime, 125 people who illegally kept and transported firearms were brought to criminal responsibility, 132 kilograms more than 6 months of last year - 1 ton of 975 kilograms of narcotics were removed from illegal circulation, 105 tons of illegally cultivated narcotic plants were detected and destroyed.

He also noted that within the framework of the implementation of important tasks in the field of reception and consideration of appeals of citizens, the administration of the Ministry has received 1.362 citizens, including 748 citizens in different cities and regions of the republic by providing preliminary information in mass media, most of the raised issues have been resolved legally.

In the speeches around the report, the chiefs of a number of territorial police bodies informed about the work done, the results achieved, as well as the planned measures to eliminate the deficiencies and shortcomings in activity.

Summing up the board meeting, the Minister Colonel-General V.Eyvazov brought to the attention that positive results have been developed in the field of crime prevention, protection of laü and order and gave instructions and recommendations on further improvement of efficiency of service activities.

At the same time, the minister reminded that ensuring citizen satisfaction is one of the main tasks defined by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mr. Ilham Aliyev demanded more sensitive approach to prevention, detection of crimes, compensation of material damage caused as a result of illegal actions, consideration and reception of citizens’ appeals

Minister V. Eyvazov touching on the situation of the fight against drugs s positively evaluated the work done in the relevant field in recent years. Noting the importance of anti-narcotic propaganda among adolescents and young people, demanded that such measures be sustainable and purposeful, and the activities should be built on the purpose of reducing the demand for drugs in the country.

He brought to the attention of the Board participants the necessity of application of modern technologies and expansion of electronization in management, provision of objects and apartments belonging to legal and physical persons with security-alarm means, reliable protection of the rights and freedom of each person, as well as professional fulfillment of duties related to the authority of the police.

General-Colonel Vilayat Eyvazov noting that the teaching and learning process in the educational institutions of the Ministry is developed on the basis of advanced international experience, drew attention to the work done on the formation of qualified personnel training, analytical thinking of cadets and listeners, the ability to work with modern technologies and make the right decision in extreme conditions, positive results achieved in this direction, and noted that military, physical and team training, which is the foundation of a solid discipline, has increased.

The board made a decision on the forthcoming tasks on the discussed issue and it was informed that the reports on its implementation will be heard at the next meeting.

Minister Vilayat Eyvazov expressed his gratitude to the president of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev on behalf of the staff and assured that the duties in the field of protection of public order, internal security, legality and rule of law in the country will be fulfilled decently in the future for the high attention and care shown to the internal affairs bodies, strengthening of its material and technical base, strengthening of social protection of personnel, updating of infrastructure, great value and trust given to its activities.
