HomepageAppeal of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to citizens
03.08.2022
Dear compatriots!
Religious ceremonies should be held in accordance with the law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On freedom of religion” only in mosques, shrines and territories belonging to them in the month of Muharram, which started on July 30 of the current year as well as on the day of “Ashura” which coincides with August 8.
All necessary precautions are taken to ensure the safety of the participants in the ceremony, easy access to mosques, and free and unhindered performance of religious rites.
At the same time, we bring to the attention that in view of the need to ensure epidemiological well-being of the population, it is recommended to organize ceremonies in accordance with sanitary standards. Situations that pose a threat to the lives of pedestrians and other road traffic participants, which can cause traffic jams, should not be allowed.
Expressing our deep respect for the religious freedom of people, we call on our citizens to meet this appeal with understanding and also declare that the above-mentioned requirements and recommendations serve to protect the life, health, rights, freedoms, legitimate interests of each person and the peaceful life of society.
