On July 27, the police received a report regarding the fire of a “VAZ-2109” vehicle owned by a resident of the capital, which occurred in the Sabunchu district.

Measures carried out by the employees of the Sabunchu District Police Department determined that the vehicle had been intentionally set on fire. Police personnel apprehended Mammad Jabarov, suspected of committing the act, together with Ruslan Khammadov, who has a prior conviction for a drug-related offense.

In their testimonies, they confessed that their initial aim was to hijack the vehicle, however, when their attempt was unsuccessful, they intentionally set it on fire.

An investigation into the matter is currently ongoing.
