07.03.2017

On February 7, the 6th Annual International Conference of Policewomen began its work in Tbilisi.

The conference discusses the participation of policewomen in the effective organization of the work of law enforcement agencies, ensuring security and stability in society, as well as in the fight against international terrorism, the prevention of illicit trafficking in arms and drugs, and other issues.

At the conference it was noted that today the role of women in society is not limited to motherhood. The merits of women in the socio-political and cultural life of each country are great.

Georgian Interior Minister Georgy Mgebrishvili said in an interview with Azerbaijani journalists: "Georgia is a multinational country. There are Azerbaijani women among our policewomen. They are fighting to ensure security and stability in the country shoulder to shoulder with Georgians. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate them, and also all women with the International Women's Day - March 8th, and wish them success in their work and personal lives."

Highly appreciating the level of cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan and other relevant structures, the minister said: "You know that criminals have no homeland, and crimes have no borders. We closely cooperate with our Azerbaijani colleagues and everyone sees productive results of this cooperation".

The conference will last until March 10th.
