The internal affairs bodies have carried out successful operational search actions in Narimanov district for the purpose of prevention of theft of water meters and arrest of those who committed such crimes.
As the result of the operational search actions carried out by the police officers of the Police Office No. 16 of Narimanov District Police Department, Baku city resident Yusif Shahbazov and previously convicted Mehman Aliyev were arrested, suspected of stealing water meter.

The measures carried out related to the arrested persons have revealed that they stole water meters from the entry part of additional 12 apartments in the territory of the district. According to the initial statements of both arrested persons, after stealing the water meters they sold the copper and brass parts of the meters in the different metal receiving workshops located in Baku.  
     
In connection with the above-mentioned facts the Investigation Branch of Narimanov District Police Department has launched a criminal case under the relevant Articles of the Criminal Code.
 
Necessary investigative activities and operational search actions are carried out for determining and prosecuting the owners of the metal receiving workshops that bought the metal parts of the stolen water meters. 

To sum up, the Ministry of Internal Affairs once more informs the non-ferrous metal receiving workshops that they should reject receiving stolen non-ferrous metals and that they should immediately contact the territorial police departments or call “102”  Call Center. Otherwise, relevant legal actions will be carried out in connection with the owners of such metal receiving workshops.
