According to the Press Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, joint meeting was held in the Ministry of Internal Affairs on the execution of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated on October 23, 2013 “On Approval of the Regulation of the Republic of Azerbaijan “on the Identity Card of the Citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan” and “On amendments to some laws of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the application period of the new generation Identity Card of the Citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan” dated June 29, 2018 .

Minister of Internal Affairs Colonel-General Ramil Usubov and the Minister of Economy Shahin Mustafayev attended the meeting.
Opening the event with the inauguration speech, the Minister of Internal Affairs noted that, in connection with the execution of the normative-legal acts, the new generation electronic identity cards will begin to apply from September 1 of the current year, relevant structures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Economy, as well as the partner “Idrak Technology Transfer” company noted that they have successfully completed the preparation and the technical work in connection with the issuance of the new document in all over the country on the specified date.

Sharing the opinions of his colleague Minister of Economy of the Republic Shahin Mustafayev highly evaluated the joint effective cooperation of all the participants involved in the preparation process for the application of new generation identity cards. He reminded that the mentioned issues were repeatedly discussed at state level of both authorities and all arising problems were solved successfully, he thanked all the structural  organizations and individuals involved in this work as well.

Then Police Colonel Elchin Mammadov, temporarily executing the duties of the Chief of the Main Passport, Registration and Migration Department, Head of the Legal Department of the Ministry of Economy Tural Isgandarov and responsible officer of “Idrak Technology Transfer” company Javanshir Huseynov provided detailed information for the meeting participants on the preparatory works for the application of the new generation identity cards.

It was noted that in order to issue new generation identity cards, exchanging the necessary information by using the information resources of the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Public Health, the State Service for Mobilization and Conscription, The State Property Issues Committee of the Republic, as well as establishing interaction was provided in order to obtaining enhanced electronic signature from the Certification Services Centers under the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies. In addition, the necessary equipment for the issuance of new generation identity cards was installed in the registration and identification offices of territorial police departments and “ASAN Service” centers, trial tests were carried out in order to examine technical parameters and performance indicators, appropriate trainings were held for the employees working with the new technique.

Both ministers emphasized that the implemented works are under full attention and control of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, they noted that the measures taken are regularly reported to the head of the state and the relevant bodies of the ministries are completely ready for the issuance of the new generation identity cards from September 1 of the current year.
