10.10.2018

A number of steps is being taken by the employees of the State Traffic Police Department of Baku city Main Police Department in order to ensure the discipline and safety in the field of public transport in the capital.

According to the press release of the press service of MIA, some unsatisfactory points were detected in the field of public transport as a result of inspection performed last night by the employees of the State Traffic Police Department of Baku city in Yasamal, Narimanov, Sabail, Nizami and other districts. It was revealed that, approximately 100 buses are parked in the building yards, sidewalks, live parts of the roads and other areas prohibited by law of these locations after work. There were also bus drivers who parked in the petrol stations and surrounding areas. Those drivers are engaged in passenger transportation at 6-7 am without any medical examination and check of the technical condition of the vehicle. It creates serious barriers for ensuring full security of public transport. During the investigation, it was also revealed that however the bus drivers who run the vehicle have to pass daily medical examination, some passenger transportation companies issue that document to bus drivers on a monthly basis.

The State Traffic Police brings into attention of legal and natural persons engaged in passenger transportation activities that, according to the normative acts and rules, the public transport vehicles must be taken to the garage after work. The vehicle should be technically checked, troubleshot and put on the line on the next day. Drivers are required to pass daily medical examination before work. Legal and natural persons engaged in passenger transportation activities must provide this.
The relevant measures under the legislation will be further taken against the persons engaged in passenger transportation activities who pave the way for rule violations.
