Preventive and awareness-raising activities were held in the secondary schools No. 145 and 277 located in Nizami district. Preventive measures against the risk of teenagers and youth being exposed to harmful habits, especially drugs were taken with the initiative and involvement of the employees of the Department of Organization of preventive work with non-adults in Nizami DPD.

Representatives of the Police Departments No. 24 and 25 of Nizami DPD, the Commission on fight against drugs of District Executive Power and police veterans also participated in the meetings with the school groups. According to the information we received from the District Police Department, Chief of the Police Department No. 24 Jovdat Mammadov, Chief of the Police Department No. 25 Elmir Huseynov, Chief Inspector of Nizami DPD Parvana Azizova, Inspector Mehdi Seyidov and other guests made speeches in front of the pupils.

Rights and duties of teenagers in educational institutions were explained to them. Extensive lectures on consequences of cigarettes and alcoholic beverages, liability created by drugs, religious extremism and unlawful acts were brought to the attention of the audience. It was stressed that the drugs irreversibly harm human health. Fight against drug addiction and drug trafficking, which does not bring success to the life-style and family behaviours of people, is one of the priorities in our country.

Psychologist Asmar Talibova made speeches on psychological and physical effects of drugs, as well as other harmful habits in the human organism.
