Preventive measures were taken against sale of pyrotechnic products

Preventive measures have been taken in the capital city to prevent the sale and use of explosive and flammable substances and pyrotechnic products that hurt the people's health and cause the public disorder and prevent the rest of the population.

During the raids conducted on December 13-19, the employees of Public Prosecutor's Office of the Baku Police Department found and confiscated totally 21390 pieces of toys and pyrotechnic products, fireworks of different brands and purposes at 6 commercial objects in the territories of Garadagh, Khatai districts of the capital city. 

Pursuant to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated September 12, 2005 "On Turnover of Goods with restricted circulation”, the pyrotechnical products are included in the list of items with restricted circulation, and its turnover is allowed on the basis of “special permit” issued by the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

When identifying the sale of such goods in shopping centers, there were withdrawn from the sale, and a protocol on the administrative offense against the citizen who sells these products was drawn up under the Article 442 of the Code of Administrative Offenses and was sent to the competent authority for review. The goods which are the objects of administrative violation in the sanction of the mentioned article will be confiscated, and physical entities are considered to be fined in the amount of 350-500 manats, officials from 1600 manat to 2500 manat, and the legal entities will be fined in the amount between 4000 manat and 5000 manat.

These means not complying with the safety standards not only adversely affect human health, but can also cause serious damage to the environment as they are combustible substances.

 There is relevant decree of the head of Baku City Executive Authority on the prohibition of the sale of explosives and dangerous toys dated in 2001. The explanation and awareness-raising measures are being taken to prevent the sale of explosive toys and pyrotechnics in accordance with the decree's requirements.
