The Minister of Internal Affairs, Colonel-General Ramil Usubov Meets with the delegates under leadership of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Turkey

The delegates under leadership of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Turkey Suleyman Soylu arrived in Azerbaijan on an official visit at the invitation of the Minister of Internal Affairs, Colonel-General Ramil Usubov, Press Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.

 On December 28, Turkish guests went to the Alley of Honors to lay a wreath at the grave of national leader Heydar Aliyev and commemorate the great leader's dearest memory. The flowers were laid on the grave of prominent ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva.

Then representatives of fraternal country visited the Eternal Torch Complex and the Turkish Martyrs in the Alley of Martyrs.

On that same day, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Colonel-General Ramil Usubov met with a delegation led by Mr. Suleyman Soylu. Expressing his gratitude to his Turkish counterpart for accepting his invitation, the Minister reminded with pleasure the development of relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan on a uplifting line, after gaining independence, the services of national leader Heydar Aliyev in this field, successful implementation of his policy “one nation, two states” by the President of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev and the President of Turkey Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, as well as stepping to the qualitatively new stage of relations between fraternal countries as  a result of the political will and mutual visits of the heads of state.

Further, the Minister gave information on the functional duties and activities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the tense social-political and criminogenic situation in our country in the early years of independence, the reforms carried out after the return of the national leader Heydar Aliyev to the Supreme Power, restoration of peace and control of operational conditions.

 Stressing the establishment of stability which is one of the main factors that led to rapid development of our country under the leadership of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the Minister noted that full detention of criminogenic situation is primarily due to the fact that our citizens, foreigners, foreign investors and Turkish businessmen invest in our country, and thus, it has created favorable conditions for our country to live and work in a safe and secure environment.

He emphasized that special attention is paid to the strengthening and development of security as in all spheres of public life, and today the Azerbaijani Police, Internal Troops works on a professional level, they have achieved positive results in protection of public order and fighting against crime. He also reminded the special role and service of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Turkey, as well as the Gendarmerie Forces in achieving all the abovementioned, and expressed his gratitude to the head of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Turkey, as well as the Gendarmerie Forces in the face of Mr. Suleyman Soylu.

The Minister expressed confidence that Mr. Suleyman Soylu's first official visit to Azerbaijan would have a positive impact on the development and deepening of our relations.

Expressing gratitude for warm reception, detailed information and hospitality, the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Turkey talked about his visit to the republic, global problems preventing the establishment peace and stability in the region of friendly and brotherly countries, as well as their standpoint and joint efforts against all forms of organized crime, and also expressed his satisfaction with the rapid development of Azerbaijan, the stability created in our country and the fact that Baku is one of the most beautiful capitals of the world and one of the safest cities.

 He highly appreciated the useful cooperation between the relevant authorities of the two countries and emphasized that they would continue to do their utmost for the development of relations and that such cooperation and exchange of experience would serve the interests of our peoples and countries.
A number of other issues of mutual interest were also discussed during the meeting held under friendship and kind conditions.   
Erkan Ozoral, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Azerbaijan, was present at the meeting.
