Commemoration ceremony dedicated to the 96th anniversary of birth of the national leader of our nation, architect and founder of modern Azerbaijan, world-famed politician Heydar Aliyev was held at Baku city Police Department.
 
In the commemoration ceremony, Deputy Chief of Baku City Main Police Department on operation works, Police Major-General Elkhan Hasanov noted that as a result of the rescuing mission of Heydar Aliyev, who devoted all his conscious life to his Motherland, to his beloved nation, Azerbaijan successfully survived agitations and toss, and turned into a state which has faith for the future. Civil confrontation created by the struggle for power within the country during the first years of our independence and the aggression of Armenia against Azerbaijan supported by the external forces dragged the newly-created republic into a precipice. At this time when the statehood and independence were in danger, after the great leader Heydar Aliyev returned to the power with the insistent demand of the people, the transition from chaos to salvation was established, and radical positive changes took place in the socio-political life and criminogenic state of the country.

Senior assistant to the Chief of Main Department on work with personal staff, Police Colonel Ali Valiyev made a detailed report on the subject of life and political activity of the great leader “Heydar Aliyev is the architect and founder of the modern Azerbaijan”.

It was highlighted that the formation of national statehood culture, the transformation of Heydar Aliyev’s heritage to national wealth in Azerbaijan, which became an independent subject in the political arena of the world, is a logical consequence of his historical services.

Our country faced great challenges after gaining its independence. However, Heydar Aliyev rescued Azerbaijan from the threat of collapse, split and destruction. The main part of the difficulties of that period was on the Azerbaijani police. During the first years of Karabakh war, Azerbaijan did not have a regular army, that’s why the police fought for the land in the front and were martyred. The great leader always highly appreciated the services of Azerbaijani police in this period.

Exclusively, under the leadership of national leader Heydar Aliyev, the law-enforcement agencies began to struggle against organized crime raging in the republic, against the harmful tendencies that threaten stability, the deactivation of illegal armed units. The conditions needed for our citizens to live in peace and comfort were created, their confidence in the state and the law-enforcement agencies increased, the socio-political and the criminogenic situation was taken under control. Important laws and legal acts directly related to the activities of the internal affairs bodies were adopted by the national leader Heydar Aliyev. Also dozens of laws, more than 100 decrees and orders regulating the mechanism of implementation of human rights and freedoms were signed.

Police Major-General Elkhan Hasanov noted at the end of the event that as a result of successfully implemented law-enforcement strategy of Heydar Aliyev, socio-political stability in ensuring balanced and sustainable development in our state has become the lifestyle of the society in recent years. President Ilham Aliyev, as a decent political successor of Heydar Aliyev, has made dreams of the great leader real.
