As a result of the operation, employees of the Drug Control Unit of the Nizami District Police Department have withdrawn large amount of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances from illegal traffic.

According to the Press Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of the operation carried out based on the received intelligence information, a resident of the capital, previously convicted Ramil Guliyev, was detained on suspicion of drug trafficking. During bodily search, 3 kg 110 g of heroin, being a narcotic substance, 1 kg 105 g of marijuana and 180 psychotropic Pregabalin tablets were found and seized from him.

During the investigation, it was found that on behalf of an Iranian citizen, unknown to the investigation, Ramil Guliyev purchased a large amount of narcotic substances brought to the territory of Azerbaijan by illegal ways for the purpose of drug dealing.

On this fact, the Investigation Department of the Nizami DPD initiated a criminal case under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code, and the mentioned person was detained and turned over to the investigation. Operational-search and investigative actions on the criminal case are continuing.
