Front Office of the Absheron District Police Department (DPD) received information on the smoke condition in a 14-storey building at M.Huseynzada street, Khirdalan on December 7 at 9:00 am. The State Fire Protection Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and Emergency Medical Service were immediately informed, and the staff of the District Police Department led by the chief was involved in the incident scene.
By urgent actions of police officers along with the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) in order to evacuate residents and ensure safety, a total of 70 people, including 13 children and 7 elder people were evacuated. The fire was extinguished by the staff of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. 
During the evacuation, self-sacrificing police sergeants Bahruz Heydarli and Vusal Zeynalov, as well as 9 inhabitants were placed at the Toxicology Department of the Clinical Medical Center by medical staff of the Emergency Medical Aid Station with the diagnosis of severe smoke poisoning and the injuries of varying severity. Most of them were discharged after being given primary care., Police officers were taken to the Republican Hospital named after A.Heydarov of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, V. Zeynalov was taken to outpatient treatment after medical care being given, while B.Heydarli`s treatment is continued. 
As a result of the vigilance of police officers providing public order, no illegal action was recorded at the incident scene and after the danger was eliminated, the residents returned to their homes.
It should be noted that as a result of the fire occurred after the short circuit in the electric cables of the building, electricity and water meters were burned and the burned electrical cables, wires and meters were replaced with new ones at the earliest by HCC that implements construction works of that building.
