A woman was detained who smuggled drugs from Iran to Azerbaijan inside her body and in heels of her shoes.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the employees of the Criminal Investigation Division of the Khatai District Police Department and the 36th Police Division held another operation against people involved in drug trafficking and their sale.

So, based on the operational information, a resident of Baku, Ilhama Karimova, was detained by police on the territory of the Hazi Aslanov metro station. During a personal search, a narcotic substance - opium was found and seized with a total weight of 333,296 grams.

During the investigation, Ilhama Karimova admitted that she had smuggled drugs from Iran to Azerbaijan in her body and heel of her shoes a short while ago.

A criminal case has been opened against the detained person at the Investigation Division of the Khatai DPD under the relevant article of the Criminal Code. The investigation is ongoing.
