The young police officers met with the police veterans, with the organization of Sabail District Police Department.

Opening the event with his introductory speech, Chief of the District Police Department, police colonel Shamshir Kazimov brought to the attention of the attendees that today police veterans’ experience and support are highly recommended in our society. He further stated that the police veterans’ support given at the events on narcomania, child marriage and religious radicalism held in schools, among labor collectives in the city capital and districts results in the continuous achievements.  

The Chief of the Department mentioned that 130 of the crimes committed in Sabail district within the relevant period of the current year was revealed by the police veterans’ involvement.

Deputy Chairman of the Veterans Council of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, reserve police colonel Ramiz Akhundov stated that the actions being implemented with a view to strengthen the police veteran movement, ensure the stability of law and order in the country and the decisive combat against the crime, get involved in the formation of positive opinion on the police in the society, hold benefit from their experience, as well as assist them in the settlement of their problems are under the special control of the MIA Administration.     

He recommended the young police officers not to refrain from the challenges encountered, be sincere while dealing with the citizens, strictly comply with the statutory requirements, and most importantly, faithfully to serve the Motherland, people and the state.     


Considering the state’s continuous care and attention towards the healthy and intellectual development of the young people in our country, the Chairman of the Veterans Council of Baku City Main Police Department, resigned police lieutenant-colonel Emin Mammadov stressed that also police veterans undertake the big responsibility to ensure the upbringing of youth in the spirit of patriotism and their growing up in the spirit of adherence to the statehood. 

He also spoke about the benefit of the importance given to the service by the heads of the police authorities together with the police veterans and wished the colleagues in service to benefit the conditions provided, as well as the high care and attention in the combat against the crime and the protection of the public order.

The Chairman of Veterans Council of Sabail District Police Department Mammad Gadimov expressed his confidence that the regular meetings between veterans and young police officers will lead to the future successes and be a turning point in the service executed by the employees of the internal affairs bodies, especially the young employees. 

Concluding the event, the Chief, police colonel Shamshir Kazimov mentioned that they will benefit the police veterans’ experience, public domain, knowledge and skills towards the implementation of the tasks conferred on the internal affairs bodies, promotion of the legal knowledge, revelation and prevention of crimes, and provision of safety. 

Interestingly, also the 5th year students of the Police Academy attended the event. 

Then the police veterans together with young police officers paid a visit to the Martyrs’ Lane, our place of oath, and laid the flowers on the graves of Azerbaijani sons and daughters who sacrificed their lives for our freedom.
