A fraudster who deceived citizens and took their funds was detained

A fraudster was detained, who deceived citizens and took about 50 thousand AZN promising highly paid work in European countries.

A man was detained in Nasimi district, who deceived people, promising to get them a job, and appropriating material means in a significant amount.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of search operations based on numerous appeals received from citizens, resident of Baku Vusal Mammadov was detained on suspicion of fraud.

During the investigation, it was found that several months ago V. Mammadov opened an office in the Nasimi district and started to advertise, including via social networks, about highly paid vacancies abroad. He deceived people by promising them job at chocolate factories in Germany, the Czech Republic and the Polish Republic, a fish factory in the Kingdom of Norway, and an automobile factory in the Republic of Estonia. At the moment, V. Mammadov admitted that he appropriated about 50,000 AZN, deceiving 15 victims.

The Investigation Division of the Nasimi DPD opened a criminal case under the articles 178.2.2 (fraud, repeatedly), 178.2.4 (causing significant damage) of the Criminal Code. The investigation is ongoing.
