THE POLICE TAKES ALL THE NECESSARY MEASURES

24.06.2015

“To uphold law-and-order, road safety in Baku all police forces were involved in and they continue their service in medium security operation”. This was said by the Department Chief of the State Traffic Police of the Baku Main State Traffic Police Department Police Colonel, Vagif Asadov.

He noted that in connection with the First European Games, the police took the whole territory of the city under the full control and takes all the necessary measures: “The actions taken influenced the reduce in the number of road accidents, diminution of the number of deaths and minimization of injuries in Baku”. Thus, continues the fight against violation of parking and other regulations, against attempts of drivers to violate traffic rules by making use of a current situation, against the drivers driving a vehicle while intoxicated and not meeting the legitimate demands of the police and illegally moving along "Stripes of games".

V.Asadov informed that with the purpose of a more efficient organization of the struggle against the undisciplined drivers, preventing the free movement on "Stripes of European Games" and creating an emergency situation for other road users and expressing open disrespect for the people were warned that the methods of public censure would be applied to them: “Despite the conducted works, there are still drivers, creating an emergency situation and other violations.” Drivers, prone to indiscipline think that the attention of traffic police is focused solely on the regulation of movement related to the Games in the capital and security of the participants. But they are mistaken. Despite the fact that it is sometimes impossible to make on-site administrative report against drivers who have violated the rules, the punishments will be administered on the basis of photo and video materials recording by monitors and surveillance cameras. Up to date more than 1,800 drivers moving along "the stripes of first European Games" have been called to account.

The Department chief informed that STPD of Baku city SPD appealed to citizens in connection with the First European Games: "Since Baku is in the center of world attention, we recommend to citizens to follow the rules of behavior and requirements of sanitation, to perform their duties for the safety of traffic and information, to raise civic vigilance and friendliness. We urge the drivers and other road traffic users to be disciplined do not cause danger by violations, do not treat the society with disrespect at a time while many foreign visitors are in the capital”.

It is reported that against drivers who do not pay attention to such appeals and pointedly shatter peace and quiet of population, measures will be taken in accordance with the law: "The public will be informed about these people and their actions."
